Driver (4 positions)
Driver (4 positions) will drive the project vehicles with strict adherence to local
traffic laws and in accordance to project rules and regulations pertaining to
vehicles.
S/he will transport
project staff and materials in Kampala and the regions and maintain the vehicle
in a satisfactory condition, including weekly cleaning of the interior and
exterior and periodic (quarterly) cleaning of the motor and chassis.
S/he will carry out
project errands as required and ensure that the vehicle usage log is updated on
a daily basis.

Office Assistant
will assist in
providing a wide range of administrative and support duties for the program.
S/he will coordinate
office space for visiting RTI/USA staff or outside consultants and is

S/he will assist in
coordination of meetings with USAID/Uganda and other USAID supported partners,
type general correspondence, answer telephone calls and perform other

Qualifications:

Program Assistant
Program
Assistant will establish and maintain project electronic and paper files,
provide support to track accounts payable and receivable, and manage logistics
(including purchase of supplies, making photocopies, reservations, etc.) for
regional travel.
The Program
Assistant will monitor project correspondence and ensure proper maintenance of
project equipment.
S/he will liaise
with suppliers, including obtaining required 3 price quotes, processing
payments and ensuring deliveries, develop and update vehicle usage and
maintenance calendars and provide support to regional administrative assistants
as needed.
Qualifications:
Associates degree
with 2 years of experience in project administrative support;
Knowledge of computer
software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
Ability to
communicate and liaise verbally and in writing with partners/suppliers/visitors

instructions.
Accountant
will assist with
management of finances and administration of the program and ensure compliance
with RTI financial procedures.
S/he will prepare
and submit monthly financial statements (including expenses, receivable and
payables).
S/he will ensure
timely submission of expense reports, bank reconciliations and wire transfer
requests to corporate headquarters in the US and/or to RTI’s regional office in
Nairobi.

The Logistics Specialist will manage other logistic duties
relating to project activities as may be assigned by the COP.
Qualifications:

District Education and Health Coordinators (DEHCs) (2
positions)
will facilitate the transfer of knowledge, and ensure smooth
implementation of logistics and funding flows without interruptions.
DEHCs will assist with the central and local governments in
improving and coordinating the implementation of project activities aimed at
improvement of literacy in early grades and HIV/AIDS education in primary and
post-primary schools.
DEHCs will provide support to the monitoring and evaluation
(M&E) and impact assessment efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, public health,
or related field with 6 years of increasingly responsible experience in
coordinating projects in the education/health/social sector;
Fully competent in information systems skills, particularly
in publications software;

Professional Development Specialist (PDS)
will translate the vision of the improved curriculum
into more effective and innovative teacher training in both pre- and in-service

S/he will work with the COP and Senior Management team in
very close cooperation with education officials at the central and local
governments and relevant pre- and in-service institutions to accomplish this
task.
The PDS will provide support to the MOE and the project
staff in joint efforts to improve pre- and in-service teacher training in the
early grades, training of teachers in the use of active learning methods,
reinforcing teachers’ understanding and use of English and Mother Tongue as
languages of instruction, and strengthening the capacity of TTCs and the TSC to
design and deliver pre-service and in-service teacher education activities.
Qualifications:

Finance and Administration Director (FAD)
will manage all project activities in finance, human
resources, grants management, IT, logistics, and general administration
requirements for the project on a national level and ensure compliance with the
terms of the contract. S/he is responsible for implementation, quality control,
reporting, monitoring and staff management.
This includes supervising, coordinating and training
financial/administrative staff.
The FAD is also responsible for ensuring appropriate systems
and procedures (payroll, cash management, vendor payments, budgeting and other
related to financial management) are in place to properly disburse, account,
budget and report project funds which are cost effective, timely, have proper
internal controls and comply with the terms of the agreement.
Qualifications:
- MBA
plus nine years of experience in business/accounting or bachelor’s degree

Coordinator

STORES SUPERVISORS
Will be responsible for the Workshop Store and manage the computerized workshop
management system. Responsibilities include purchase requisitions; stock level
maintenance and governance of ail assets in the store.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Degree/Diploma in Purchasing & Supplies will be an advantage.
• Proven practical knowledge of Workshop operations
• Computer literate and able to manipulate data in MS Office.
• 3 years relevant experience in the operation of stores
• Good analytical skills and ability to use data to effectively manage the
store
• Demonstrated experience in the management of teams in an environment with a
zero tolerance
